Jeremy Praud, Managing Director

MEng (Elec & Elec), MIET, MIOD

Jeremy has 20+ years’ experience of working with manufacturers to improve productivity. Having started his first graduate role in the paper industry, 2 short years later the Mill was slated for closure – it was this experience that made him resolve to understand exactly what it takes to help a factory survive, and indeed thrive.

Now having personally worked with over 110 sites across 9 countries, identifying more than £100m of annualised improvement and advising on more than £4bn deal value, his passion is breaking through what limits the thinking in manufacturers about the level they can achieve.

Instrumental to the growth in the UK and Europe, having started as the first employee in Europe, and squarely stepped through every role in the business, he is now the owner of LI Europe.  He is also the Chairman of the FMCG Academy, a not-for-profit dedicated to improving FMCG manufacturing productivity for everyone – by making Operational Expertise knowledge accessible to all.  He has a long track record of delivering successful improvement; above expectations both in terms of bottom line results, and sustained change.

Introduced to rapid improvement with Arjo Wiggins Appleton in the 1990’s, he moved into line management roles with Cadbury Schweppes and Nestle Purina, before joining LI Europe in 2002, soon working across Australia, UK, Canada, France, and Spain.  He is skilled at quickly identifying the greatest opportunity, and the tactics and strategies required to rapidly realise their benefit to ensure profit results.

Taken hostage (by love), and forced to move North, he now lives in North Yorkshire with his loving wife, and is the proud father to four children.

Things are getting done since the workshop started

Before LI came we were a family run company and things had been done the same way for a hundred years. There was a lot of apprehension but the LI team had such a great way with people they won us over. People took to them. LI were great for our company and the systems they introduced are still in place.
