Reliable Maintenance / Maintenance Strategy

Maintenance Sustainable Improvement Model

What are the essential elements that a maintenance department need to add value to a business?

There are five fundamentals that, if delivered to a high standard, will deliver a very professional maintenance department.

Within each of these five elements are a number of component areas that are regarded as essentials to world class manufacturing and form the basis to build an improvement strategy for the maintenance department.

The Maintenance Sustainable Improvement Model (SIM) gives a subjective view of the current situation within the department and creates a base for strategic improvements to begin.

In conjunction with the Maintenance SIM we offer a four step Maintenance Strategy building process that prioritises which improvements are valuable to the business and department.

Four Step Maintenance Strategy Building:

  1. Strategic Prioritisation
  2. Strategic Roadmap
  3. 100 Day Plan
  4. Strategic Document

Strategic roadmaps and action plans ensure everybody is aware of what needs to be done and when it needs to be done by. This process results in a 9000+ word strategy document that emphasises the Maintenance department’s commitment to improvement.

With the support of the LI team, the Bars business unit has made great strides forward with some exceptional results. It has been gratifying to witness the confidence and capability of the people grow paralleling the rise in plant performance. I look forward with great optimism to the continuing journey and an ongoing partnership with LI Europe.
