CI Champions deliver £960k annualised benefit
In order for any improvement programme to be sustainable it needs to be owned and led from within the management team – which is why Manufacturing companies across the UK are switching on to the fact that CI Champions are key to ensuring improvement processes are working and achieving fast payback…
One of our recent projects at a bakery involved training three Front Line Managers to become the site’s CI Champions who would run CI workshops and provide training and support to their teams in order to sustainably drive manufacturing efficiencies, reduction in waste, and lower manufacturing costs per unit.
The improvement project they delivered achieved a payback of £960k in annualised benefit and a run rate of £125m.
The CI Champions have since gone on to build their own Continuous Improvement plan which complemented the bakery’s business strategy of cost base reduction. Through regular engagement with the factory’s leadership team, the CI Champions ensured their teams were fully engaged to support the delivery of those plans for the coming year.
